Ghana latest teenage prodigy lighting up the local league, Torric Jibril, is the target of several top European clubs.

But Spanish side Atletico Madrid are in the lead to sign the teenager who has already bagged national team caps.

The 16-year-old, who plays for local giants Hearts of Oak, has been overly impressive and this has resulted in his call-up into the national team.

Clubs in Europe including French side Lyon and Olympique Marseille, as well as Udinese of Italy and a host of Dutch and Portuguese clubs have approached Hearts to sign Jibril.

But a source within Hearts has told Ghanasoccernet that Atletico Madrid have made the first move by arriving in Accra to hold talks with Hearts to sign the player.

Hmmm, this guy hasn't even played 90mins for HOK yet. I think the hype is too much. I wish him the best though.

An early move would be the best for him. Might not get much playing time initially, but the training facilities and technical handlers of those clubs are leagues ahead.

It remains to be seen though if there is any substance to this story.

Well, the spelling the GFA uses is usually the one in their passport. If that's their actual name ( and birth date ) is another story of course Laughing Laughing

Dude, you can disagree with me but spare me the insults!!

If what i wrote was wrong, please correct me. And yes, Jibril has never played 90mins for HOK and that is my reason for saying he's been hyped. Can you prove to me that he isn't over hyped?

Attaa Djah!! Chale we need a contract signed soon. Wrong timing on your side. Dont you think this Brazilians let the hype precede the full blooming their ballers talents? Robinho, Pato, ?? Soccer is all about generating hype and excitement as to what the possibilities can be. Imagine if Ahmed Polo got to sign a professional contract to play for AC Milan at 16. He could have been Maradona status by now. Let's just push the lil genius to go and fight for his place among the world's greats. He he folats good, if he sinks[hype], all's still well. I hear his is a wizard dribbler with good midfield vision too. Any one who could play for Hearts and Kotoko in their early teens is a genius. Stephen Appiah, Shamo, Joe Debrah, Polo, Michael Osei, Ishmael Addo, etc all played in the Premier league at a very early age. I dont know too much about Joe Debrah's age when he started at Kotoko. Idea

BTW, I didn't insult you but I am very sorry if you think I did.
Any 15 year old, getting playing time with the CHAN is a REAL talent. I have met some coaches, mediamen and soccer guru's in Ghana who all think the boy is a real talent and this is because they have seen him play.
Certain players were badly managed in the past but doesn't mean they were overhyped. Hyping is good, especially for strikers whose game is 50% confidence.
I saw Pato at the U-21 in Canada...and he was very ordinary...hyping him to AC Milan did a lot of good to his confidence.

You talk about over-hyping players maybe its your naivity...but some people are blessed with the special ability to see many great possibilities ahead of time...They can see far, they are not overhyping !!!
